MEI GAO

Mei Gao joined IDG Capital as a Partner in 2016 to focus on Cross-border Investments. Prior to joining IDG Capital, Mei was the President of Fore Research & Management, a New York City-based hedge fund with over USD $3 billion of peak AUM. She started her career in finance in 1998 with TD Securities where she managed a convertible arbitrage portfolio. In 2003 Mei left with colleagues to found Fore Research & Management where was the Head of Portfolio Management and gained extensive investment experience in distressed debts, convertible securities, corporate bonds, leveraged loans, collateralized loan obligations (CLO), credit derivatives, sovereign debts, equities, currencies and commodities. She is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University (MBA) and Shantou University (BA). Mei is also a CFA Charterholder.
